iand(3I)

IAND - Performs a logical AND

As shipped in IRIX 6.5. First release of IRIX 6.5.

NAME
IAND - Performs a logical AND

SYNOPSIS
     IAND ([I=]i, [J=]j)

IMPLEMENTATION
     UNICOS, UNICOS/mk, and IRIX systems

STANDARDS
     Fortran 90

DESCRIPTION
The IAND intrinsic function performs a logical AND. It accepts the
     following arguments:

i Must be of type integer

j Must be of type integer with the same kind type parameter as i

IAND is an elemental function. The name of this intrinsic cannot be
     passed as an argument.

RETURN VALUES
The result type and type parameter are the same as i. The result has
the value obtained by combining i and j bit-by-bit according to the
     following truth table:

          -----------------
                  IAND (i,
          i j j)
          -----------------
          1 1 1
          1 0 0
          0 1 0
          0 0 0
          -----------------

The bit model defines the interpretation of an integer value as a
sequence of bits. For more information on the bit model, see the
     MODELS(3I) man page.

EXAMPLES
     IAND(1, 3) has the value 1.
