ldtbindex(3X)

ldtbindex - Computes the index of a symbol table entry of a common object file

As shipped in IRIX 6.5.7. Last changed in IRIX 6.5.5.

NAME
     ldtbindex - Computes the index of a symbol table entry of a common
     object file

SYNOPSIS
     #include <stdio.h>
     #include <filehdr.h>
     #include <syms.h>
     #include <ldfcn.h>

     long ldtbindex (ldptr)
     LDFILE *ldptr;

IMPLEMENTATION
     IRIX systems (o32 ABI only)

DESCRIPTION
     ldtbindex returns the (long) index of the symbol table entry at the
     current position of the common object file associated with ldptr.

     The index returned by ldtbindex can be used in later calls to
     ldtbread(3X). ldtbindex returns the index of the last ldtbread.

     If there are no symbols in the object file, or if the object file is
     not positioned at the beginning of a symbol table entry, ldtbindex
     fails and returns BADINDEX (-1).

     The first symbol in the symbol table has an index of zero.

     The program must be loaded with the object file access routine library
     libmld.a.
