sgigetdsoversion(3c)

sgigetdsoversion - Gets the interface version of a shared object

As shipped in IRIX 6.5.7. Added in IRIX 6.5.5.

NAME
     sgigetdsoversion - Gets the interface version of a shared object

SYNOPSIS
     cc [flag ...] file ... -lc [library ...]

     #include <dlfcn.h>

     char *sgigetdsoversion(const char *pathname);

IMPLEMENTATION
     IRIX systems

DESCRIPTION
     sgigetdsoversion returns a pointer to the interface version string of
     the shared object with the same name as the pathname argument. If
     there is no shared object with that name, sgigetdsoversion returns 0
     (NULL).

     The returned string pointer is valid until the shared object named by
     pathname is closed by the dlclose(3c) command. The string space to
     which the return value points must not be freed by the free(3)
     command.

     Link with -lc to use this function.

     Version strings and support of multiple versions of DSO are described
     in detail in the dso(5) man page. Versions strings are put into a
     shared object with the -set_version option of the ld command. One
     example of a valid version string is the empty string, "", which
     represents a shared object for which no -set_version option was passed
     to ld. Another example of a version string is "sgi1.0:sgi1.2".

RETURN VALUES
     Returns NULL (0) or a pointer to a string.
