ldfhread(3X)

ldfhread - Reads the file header of a common object file

As shipped in IRIX 6.5.5. Last changed in IRIX 6.5.5.

NAME
     ldfhread - Reads the file header of a common object file

SYNOPSIS
     #include <stdio.h>
     #include <filehdr.h>
     #include <syms.h>
     #include <ldfcn.h>

     int ldfhread ("ldptr,filehead")
     LDFILE *ldptr;
     FILHDR *filehead;

IMPLEMENTATION
     IRIX systems (o32 ABI only)

DESCRIPTION
     ldfhread reads the file header of the common object file currently
     associated with ldptr. It reads the file header into the area of
     memory beginning at filehead.

     ldfhread returns SUCCESS or FAILURE. If ldfhread cannot read the file
     header, it fails.

     Usually, ldfhread can be avoided by using the macro HEADER(ldptr)
     defined in <ldfcn.h> [see ldfcn(4)]. Note that the information in
     HEADER is swapped, if necessary. The information in any field,
     fieldname, of the file header can be accessed using
     HEADER(ldptr).fieldname.

     The program must be loaded with the object file access routine library
     libmld.a.
