NAME dtlbook2html - Create a HTML representation of a book from a Dynaweb server SYNOPSIS dtlbook2html [ -nav ] [ -v{v} ] [ -skipf ] [ -fspec "str" ] book_URL output_dir DESCRIPTION dtlbook2html is a utility program which accesses a book from a site that contains the dynaweb(1m) server extensions, and writes a representation of the book (in HTML) out to the specified output_dir. dtlbook2html fetches (and filters) all documents and images referenced by the specified book. It also prepares two versions of the table of contents - a "basic" representation and a fully-expanded version. Optionally, it provides navigation adornments (-nav) to the top and bottom of each document it retrieves. The server specification for the book (book_URL) is the (partial) URL that is used when the book is normally accessed from a dynaweb(1m) server. See the Options section for further information. OPTIONS Command line options are described below. book_URL Partial URL used to access the book from a dynaweb(1m) server. For example: http://localhost/ebt-bin/nph-dweb/dynaweb/SGI_EndUser/Desktop_UG The last two path components are the book shelf and the short name of the book. They can vary depending on which book you are accessing. This parameter is required. output_dir This specifies where you wish to have the resultant files placed. A sub-directory ("images") will be created below this area to hold the images referenced by the specified book. For example: /var/www/htdocs/bks/Desktop_UG This parameter is required. -nav Instructs dtlbook2html to place navigation-oriented adornments at the top and bottom of each document it fetches. It is recommended that this option be specified unless you intend to provide/create your own navigation adornments. -skipf Instructs dtlbook2html to bypass fetching the images for this book. This can be used for subsequent runs of the tool, when the images for the book have not changed. -v Verbose mode; streams progress messages to the shell window in which you are running the tool from ("stdout") about. Additional information can be generated by adding an extra "v" to this option, as in -vv. -fspec Allows you to control how the HTML filenames are designated. str is designated by using a printf(1) style format; such as "mybook_%d.htm". Note that "%d" must appear somewhere in the specification so that the resultant HTML files can be properly distinguished from one another. You must also make sure to specify a file extension, either ".htm" or ".html" being the obvious choices. FILES /usr/sbin/dtlbook2html SEE ALSO dynaweb(1m)
