As shipped in IRIX 6.5.5. Unchanged since IRIX 6.5.
NAME filterps - Adobe Systems conversion utility for PostScript language documents with invalid DSC comments. SYNOPSIS filterps oldfile [newfile] filterps [-help] DESCRIPTION The filterps utility corrects PostScript language documents generated by certain applications. The corrected documents can then be used by the Adobe ShowPS previewer, by programs in the TranScript package, or by any other program that requires strict adherence to the PostScript language document structuring conventions (DSC). The filterps utility determines what program generated oldfile. If a corresponding filter exists, filterps invokes it on oldfile and generates a file that strictly conforms to the DSC. A message tells you the type of file the program is converting. The filterps utility replaces oldfile unless newfile is specified. If no filter is available, filterps prints a message and terminates. OPTIONS oldfile Name of a PostScript language file generated by one of the applications listed under AVAILABLE FILTERS. newfile Name of the file that filterps generates. If you don't provide this argument, the program replaces oldfile with newfile. -help Displays command line options and lists all currently available filters. AVAILABLE FILTERS The filterps utility can currently convert documents generated by the following programs: FrameMaker document preparation package from Frame Technology, versions 2.0 and 3.0. Asterix, a collection of document creation applications from Applix, Inc. ditroff (device-independent troff), a troff-like utility that is sold and licensed independently by AT&T, either alone or in the Documenter's Workbench package. dvi2ps, a utility that converts TeX documents into PostScript language documents.
