scalbn(3M)

scalbn, scalbln, scalbnf, scalblnf, scalblnl, scalblnl - functions that return a quiet NaN

As shipped in IRIX 6.5.30. Added in IRIX 6.5.19.

NAME
     scalbn, scalbln, scalbnf, scalblnf, scalblnl, scalblnl - functions
     that return a quiet NaN

SYNOPSIS
     #include <math.h>

     double scalbn(double x, int n);
     double scalbln(double x, long int n);
     float scalbnf(float x, int n);
     float scalblnf(float x, long int n);
     long double scalbnl(long double x, int n);
     long double scalblnl(long double x, long int n);

DESCRIPTION
     These routines are not available for programs compiled with the O32
     ABI.

     Functions in the standard math library (libm.a) are referred to as -lm
     versions. Those in the libmx library (libmx.a) are referred to as -lmx
     versions, and those in the the BSD math library (libm43.a) are
     referred to as -lm43 versions. These routines are not available in
     libmx or libm43.

     These functions compute x * FLT_RADIX efficiently, not normally by
     computing FLT_RADIX explicitly. They return x * FLT_RADIX.

RETURN VALUES
     The -lm and -lmx versions always return the default Quiet NaN and set
     errno to EDOM when a NaN is used as an argument.

     See matherr(3M) for a description of error handling for -lmx
     functions.
