uopt - The ucode optimizer
As shipped in IRIX 6.5.22. Last changed in IRIX 6.5.19.
NAME uopt - The ucode optimizer DESCRIPTION The ucode optimizer, uopt, is a part of the compiling system and is always invoked from one of the compiler commands, such as cc(1) or f77(1). uopt has the following options not recognized by the compilers, which can be applied with the prefix -Wo. For example, to prevent loop unrolling completely with the C compiler, use cc -Wo,-loopunroll,0. For compiler commands other than cc or f77 see the appropriate man page. The following options are available: -loopunroll count Each loop which uopt can unroll is unrolled count times. Set count to 0 to prevent loop unrolling. For example, you may want to prevent loop unrolling if you find that unrolled loops are slower (possibly due to cache effects) or where code size reduction is critical. The default is count = 4. -unrolllimit limit Each loop which uopt can unroll is unrolled a maximum of limit times. Defaults to 160. FILES /usr/lib/uopt SEE ALSO cc(1), f77(1),
