NAME
     _num_pes, NUM_PES - Returns the number of processing elements (PEs)
     running in an application

SYNOPSIS
     C or C++:

     #include <mpp/shmem.h>
     int _num_pes (void);

     Fortran:

     I = NUM_PES()

DESCRIPTION
     The num_pes function returns the number of PEs running in an
     application.
