ecfind - report processes using process-based event counters
As shipped in IRIX 6.5.22. Last changed in IRIX 6.5.15.
NAME ecfind - report processes using process-based event counters SYNOPSIS ecfind [-tv] DESCRIPTION ecfind may be used on systems with R1x000 processors to discover which processes, if any, are currently using the process-based hardware event counter mechanisms, e.g. executing an application under the control of perfex(1). This is most useful in situations where the global event counters cannot be enabled with ecadmin(1) due to concurrent use of the process-based event counters. ecfind uses icrash(1) on the running kernel, and hence must be run as root. The options to ecfind are as follows; -t By default ecfind reports processes using a subset of the output from ps(1) with the options -ef. The -t (or terse) option produces a more spartan output format with just the process id and the command name reported. -v More verbose output, with the details of intermediate data used to identify the processes of interest. This is most useful for debugging any cases in which ecfind does not correctly identify the target processes. SEE ALSO ecadmin(1), perfex(1), speedshop(1) and r10k_counters(5). The specifications for the R10000 event counters may be found at http://www.sgi.com/processors/r10k/performance.html
