NAME
     cxfs_client - CXFS client daemon

SYNOPSIS
     cxfs_client [ option ... ]

DESCRIPTION
cxfs_client is a light weight client daemon for CXFS. It can run on IRIX
and Solaris CXFS nodes. Note that cxfs_client is invoked by the system
start up scripts and is not usually run manually by users. When started
from the system init scripts, If this file does not exist, then the
default options as described below are used.

The host running cxfs_client should be configured as a light-weight
client in the CXFS cluster. This configuration is normally performed
using the cmgr(1) command or the cxdetail(1) graphical user interface.
Consult the CXFS Software Installation and Administration Guide for
     detailed instructions.

A private heartbeat network is mandatory for cxfs_client operation.
cxfs_client will listen for multicast packets from other nodes in the
local cluster and automatically bootstrap itself and join the cluster.
The -e option may be used to specify a single interface for cxfs_client
to listen on overriding the default behaviour which is to listen on all
interfaces. If a private heartbeat network is not being used and there
is more than one cluster operating over the local subnet then cxfs_client
will be unable to start and will generate a warning in the log file. The
-i option should be used to specify the name of the cluster to connect to
     in this situation.

IRIX Specific Information
cxfs_client is installed in /usr/cluster/bin. It is started by
/etc/init.d/cxfs_client which is run on startup if the cxfs_client
chkconfig(1m) option is 'on'. The startup script reads command line
     options from /etc/config/cxfs_client.options.

Solaris Specific Information
cxfs_client is installed in /usr/cxfs_cluster/bin. It is started by the
/etc/init.d/cxfs_cluster script during normal boot processing. On
Solaris, cxfs_client reads command line options from
     /usr/cxfs_cluster/bin/cxfs_client.options.

OPTIONS
The following options are recognised by cxfs_client:

     -h print usage

-l logfile specify path name to the log file. The default log file path
                 name is /var/log/cfs_client.
     -i clusterid
specify cluster id / cluster name

     -m addr:port
                 override default CIS bootstrap address

-c addr override default CMS multicast address

     -f don't daemonize & log to stdout

-e addr only listen on specified interface

     -s fatal|error|warning|normal|verbose|trace
log messages at or above specified level to syslog. The
                 default is normal.

-x seconds change the delay between when CXFS membership is delivered
(and I/O fences are lowered) to cxfs_client probing for new
devices before any CXFS mounts are attempted. This gives the
underlying SCSI device driver a chance to negotiate bringing
up the Fiber Channel link with the Fiber Channel switch and
is only applicable if I/O fencing is enabled. The default is
2 seconds. This would only ever need to be changed to a
larger value if the local SAN has an abnormally large number
                 of LUNs.
