NAME
TIMEF - Returns elapsed wall-clock time in milliseconds since the
     initial call to TIMEF

SYNOPSIS
     REAL (KIND=8) TIMEF
     timef=TIMEF()

DESCRIPTION
This routine is in libffio.so which is linked by default when
compiling programs with the MIPSpro 7 Fortran 90 compiler or when
compiling programs with the -f90libs option to the MIPSpro F77
     compiler.

TIMEF returns the elapsed wall-clock time since the initial call to
TIMEF. The initial call to TIMEF returns 0.0. On IRIX systems, TIMEF
is a function with no arguments. The return values is of type REAL.

The following is the valid argument for this routine, regardless of
     operating system:

timef Elapsed wall-clock time (a real number in milliseconds)
since the initial call to TIMEF.

NOTES
If TIMEF calculates a negative value for the elapsed wall-clock time,
it resets the initial value of the clock to the current value of the
     clock and returns 0.0.

If TIMEF is to be called from any program involving multiprocessing or
threads, such as using OpenMP directives, the initial call to TIMEF
must be done in a serial section of the code, or by only one process
or thread in a parallel section of the code. Subsequent calls can be
     made anywhere in the code.
