NAME gssd - Generic Security Service support daemon SYNOPSIS /usr/etc/gssd DESCRIPTION gssd is an RPC server that is used to support generation and validation of Generic Security Service (GSS) tokens for the kernel implementation of RPCSEC_GSS authentication mechanism. It is also used to aid translation from RPCSEC_GSS principal's names to the local user and group IDs using local credentials cache, maintained by gsscred(1M). The daemon is started during system initialization from the /etc/init.d/network script if the configuration flag nfs and gssd are set on. SEE ALSO gsscred(1M), rpcsec_gss(7), chkconfig(1M).
