NAME diskprep - Disk Preparation Utility SYNOPSIS diskprep [-P] [-M<path>] [-f] -c<n> -d<n> [-l<n>] DESCRIPTION This utility prepares a disk drive for use in data streaming applications. This eliminates many tedious, complicated, and time consuming steps normally required to do so manually. The functions which can be performed by this utility are as follows: Partition disk as XFS option drive Partitions the disk as an XFS option drive. Make and mount an XFS filesystem Create an XFS filesystem, and mount it at a specific location. OPTIONS The following options may be specified in any order. The controller, disk, and lun numbers are represented in the special SCSI device file for the disk to be prepared : /dev/scsi/sc<controller>d<disk>l<lun>. -P This option causes fx to be invoked to partition the disk as an XFS option drive. Warning: Partitioning disk will destroy partition contents !! -M<path> Create an xfs filesystem and mount it at path specified. Warning: Creating a filesystem will destroy partition contents !! -f Force any of the options without confirmation. -c<n> Identifies the controller of the desired SCSI device. -d<n> Identifies the disk of the desired SCSI device. -l<n> Identifies the lun of the desired SCSI device. If the lun number is not specified, a default value of 0 will be used. EXAMPLES diskprep -P -c0 -d5 This will repartition the disk dksc(0,5,0). All data on the disk will be destroyed due to the repartitioning !! BUGS None known SEE ALSO diskperf(1M), diskalign(1M), xlv_make(1M), mkfs(1M) NOTES Partitioning destroys all data on the disk !!
